Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

1.1 License Grant & Permitted Use

Subject to your subscription status and compliance with these Terms, boot.dk grants you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the application solely within your authorized Jira Cloud or Atlassian tenant instance.

Restrictions: You shall not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the application beyond what is expressly permitted by applicable law.
• Resell, sublicense, lease, or rent the software to third parties.
• Attempt to bypass license validation mechanisms implemented by the Atlassian Marketplace.

1.2 Customer Data Ownership

You retain 100% ownership of all data, ticket contents, Markdown notes, organization structures, and configurations created or stored while using our applications. boot.dk asserts no intellectual property or proprietary rights over customer-generated content.

1.3 Customer Responsibility & Assumption of Risk

Sole Responsibility: The Customer acknowledges and agrees that it is solely responsible for:

• Content & Lawfulness: The legality, accuracy, integrity, and appropriateness of all Markdown notes, text, and data stored in or processed by the application.
• Access Control & Permissions: Determining, configuring, and verifying access permissions, Project Roles, and User Groups authorized to view or edit notes.
• Business Decisions: Any operational, management, or business decisions made based on notes or data displayed within the software.
• Backups & Redundancy: Maintaining independent, periodic backups of any business-critical, proprietary, or operational information. The application is a productivity enhancement tool and is not intended to serve as a disaster-recovery or immutable archive system.
• Prohibited Data: Ensuring the app is not used to store unencrypted cardholder data (PCI-DSS), highly regulated medical health records (HIPAA), or other strictly regulated categories of sensitive personal data.

Assumption of Risk: Use of the software is strictly at the Customer's own discretion and risk.

1.4 Availability, Hosting & Support (SLA)

Platform Hosting: Our apps leverage Atlassian Forge. As such, platform availability, server uptime, database persistence, and backup redundancies are guaranteed under the overarching Atlassian Cloud SLA.

Support Services: We provide technical support, maintenance updates, and bug fixes for active subscribers. Support requests can be submitted via:

1.5 Warranties & Limitation of Liability

"AS IS" Disclaimer: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the software and all documentation are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" with all faults, without warranty of any kind. boot.dk disclaims all representations, warranties, and conditions, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, quiet enjoyment, and that the operation of the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with any external systems.

Exclusion of Consequential Damages: In no event shall boot.dk, its developers, affiliates, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages whatsoever (including, without limitation, damages for loss of profits, loss of confidential or other information, business interruption, loss of privacy, loss of data or corruption thereof, or failure to meet any duty) arising out of or in any way related to the use of or inability to use the software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Liability Cap: Where liability cannot be fully excluded by law, the aggregate maximum liability of boot.dk under or in connection with this Agreement, under any legal theory (whether in contract, tort including negligence, strict liability, or otherwise), shall be strictly limited to the total amount actually paid by the Customer for the software in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to liability, or zero (0.00 DKK / USD) if the software is provided free of charge.

1.6 Termination & Governing Law

Termination: You may terminate this Agreement at any time by uninstalling the application from your Jira site and cancelling your subscription in the Atlassian Marketplace.

Governing Law: This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Denmark and the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal proceedings shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Denmark.

2.1 Information We Process

Depending on the functionality of the specific app, the software may process the following types of information strictly in real time to perform its core functions:

• Jira Issue & Organization Metadata: Issue keys, issue IDs, and linked Customer Organization names/IDs in Jira Service Management to associate notes with the appropriate organization.
• Organization Notes Content: Markdown text, headings, task lists, and formatting entered into the note editor.
• Audit & Access Information: Timestamps of note creation/modification, user display names or Atlassian Account IDs (to display "Last updated by" and enforce role-based access rules).
• App Configurations: Administrative settings (such as which Jira Project Roles or Groups have View or Edit permissions).

2.2 Storage, Infrastructure & Data Residency

Forge-Hosted Infrastructure: boot.dk does not operate an external database or external servers. All persistent application data (notes, configuration settings, and permissions) is stored in Atlassian Forge Key-Value Storage (@forge/api storage), hosted and operated directly by Atlassian.

• No Developer Database: Data is never transmitted to, stored on, or indexed by any developer-operated external databases or servers.
• Data Residency: Atlassian Forge handles the hosting, data pinning, and migration of eligible Forge-hosted data in accordance with Atlassian's data residency documentation and the region configured for the customer's Jira Cloud site.
• Security & Encryption: Under Atlassian's shared responsibility model, Atlassian manages physical infrastructure, serverless compute runtime, tenant data isolation, and encryption in transit (TLS 1.3/HTTPS) and at rest.

2.3 Cookies & Analytics

We do not use cookies, web beacons, tracking scripts, Google Analytics, or third-party telemetry inside our Jira application panels or Custom UI bundles.

2.4 GDPR Compliance & Data Protection Roles

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and international privacy frameworks:

• Data Protection Roles: You (the Customer) act as the Data Controller for all business data, ticket information, and note content. The application executes on Atlassian's serverless Forge platform, where Atlassian provides the hosting, compute, and physical infrastructure as a processor/subprocessor. To the extent that boot.dk is deemed a processor or independent controller under applicable privacy laws, boot.dk processes data solely programmatically via the Forge code executing within the customer's tenant, with zero transfer of customer data to developer-owned external servers.
• Right to Rectification & Erasure: Authorized Jira users and administrators can view, modify, or permanently delete notes and configurations directly through the app UI or by deleting the Jira ticket/organization.
• App Uninstallation: Uninstalling the application from your Jira Cloud instance deletes the app installation and triggers Atlassian Forge's storage cleanup lifecycle.
