1.1 License Grant & Permitted Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, boot.dk grants you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, royalty-free license to install and use the GeoTrainr application on personal mobile devices solely for personal, non-commercial educational and training purposes.

Restrictions: You agree that you shall not:

• Decompile, reverse-engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the binary application, except where permitted by applicable statutory law.
• Resell, sublicense, lease, redistribute, or commercially monetize the application or its bundled curated clue datasets without prior written authorization.
• Use the application in any manner that violates local, national, or international laws and regulations.

1.2 User Data Ownership & Local Storage

GeoTrainr is designed to function entirely client-side. You retain 100% ownership of your gameplay history, accuracy metrics, custom topic selections, and achievement progress. All training data generated during your quiz sessions is written directly to your device's native local storage (AsyncStorage) and is never transmitted to boot.dk servers.

1.3 Content Attribution & Fair Use

GeoTrainr is an independent educational training utility created to assist players in learning geographic identification clues, Street View metadata, and world culture.

• Third-Party Trademarks: "GeoGuessr" is a registered trademark of GeoGuessr AB. "Google" and "Google Street View" are trademarks of Google LLC. GeoTrainr is an independent utility and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or officially endorsed by GeoGuessr AB or Google LLC.

1.4 Availability, Offline Operation & Notifications

GeoTrainr is engineered to operate completely offline without requiring an active internet connection once installed.

Local Notifications: The app includes optional scheduled daily training reminders. These notifications are scheduled and triggered entirely on your device using the native operating system alarm manager and do not rely on remote push servers.

1.5 Warranties & Limitation of Liability

In no event shall boot.dk, its developers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use the application. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our aggregate maximum liability shall be limited to the total amount paid by you for the application, or zero (0.00 DKK / EUR / USD) if the app was provided free of charge.

1.6 Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of Denmark and the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Denmark.

2.1 Information We Process

GeoTrainr operates under a strict Zero Data Collection policy. When you use the app:

• No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, or device hardware IDs.
• No Location Tracking: GeoTrainr does not request GPS, network location, or geographic coordinates from your device.
• No User Accounts: The app does not require sign-up, registration, passwords, or social login authentication.
• No In-App Purchases / Financial Data: GeoTrainr does not process credit cards, bank details, or billing tokens.

2.2 On-Device Data Storage (AsyncStorage)

All application data is stored purely locally inside your device's sandboxed storage (@react-native-async-storage/async-storage). This includes:

• Gameplay Statistics: Total questions answered, overall accuracy percentages, and first-try hitrates per country and category.
• Training History: Missed question logs utilized by the "Weak Spot Drill" mode.
• User Preferences: Selected topic filters, active regional scopes (e.g. Europe, Asia, Americas), and notification time settings.
• Achievements: Unlocked milestone badges and daily training streak timestamps.

Data Export & Deletion: Because all data resides solely on your physical device, you can completely erase all stored statistics and history at any time by clearing the application storage in your device settings or by uninstalling the application.

2.3 Device Permissions

GeoTrainr requests the minimum system permissions necessary to deliver its core functionality:

• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS / iOS Alerts): Used exclusively to deliver optional, scheduled local reminders (such as a daily practice alert). This permission is completely optional and can be toggled on or off at any time in the app settings.
• Haptic Feedback: Used to provide subtle vibration feedback on correct and incorrect quiz answers for improved user experience.

2.4 No Third-Party Tracking, Ads, or Analytics

Unlike many mobile apps, GeoTrainr contains:

• No Advertising SDKs: No Google AdMob, Unity Ads, AppLovin, or third-party ad networks.
• No Tracking Telemetry: No Google Analytics for Firebase, Mixpanel, Adjust, or AppsFlyer.
• No Tracking Cookies: No web cookies, fingerprinting scripts, or cross-app tracking beacons.

2.5 GDPR, CCPA & Children's Privacy Compliance

European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): Because boot.dk does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers, boot.dk does not act as a remote data controller or processor for your personal data. All processing occurs strictly on your local device under your direct control.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): We do not sell, rent, or monetize personal information.

Children's Privacy (COPPA): GeoTrainr does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). The app is safe for users of all ages.
